Fatima Çalışkan |Project coordination

Fatima Çalışkan is an artist, curator, consultant. Her artistic work can be found primarily on stage as performance, scenic reading or dance theater (e.g. Akzente Festival, Theater Oberhausen). She works on the topics of body, identity and gender. As a consultant, she conveys a variety of aesthetic and cultural topics to a wide range of people. She leads freelance projects, gives workshops and lectures on issues of anti-racism, outreach in cultural institutions and in education (e.g. Interkultur Ruhr, Bochumer Symphoniker).

In addition, she is publicly involved in social issues and heads the Institute for Contemporary Fiction (Institut für Gegenwartsfiktion).

Christiane Freudig | Finances

Christiane Freudig, born 1963 in Southern Germany, studied art history, history and philosophy in Heidelberg and Cologne. After working for various museums, she began working for forum kunstvereint e.V. in Gelsenkirchen in 1996. 2001, forum kunstvereint e.V. opened the Consol Theater in Gelsenkirchen for children and young people. Since then she has been managing director and manages the house together with a team. From the very beginning she was involved in the development and implementation of the youth project pottfiction and in the conception of EUROPEFICTION.

In addition, she has accompanied various festivals, series and productions, is active in different committees and an enthusiastic member of the children's and youth theatre scene.

Sina Langner | Press and social media

Sina Langner, born 1992 in Bochum, studied theatre sience and german at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Since her school days she has been working as a free editor for the local press. During her Masterstudies she developed a concept of combing her interests in either theatre and journalism by offering editorial and press-work for theatreproductions. Since 2016 she works for different theatreproductions (f.e. dorisdean), festivals (f.e. Impulse Theater Festival 2018/2019) and cultural organizations (f.e. LAG Tanz NRW).

Why are you taking part in europefiction?
europefiction gathers 150 youngsters from 10 theaters from 6 countries that co-create, experience and experiment with their visions of Europe through the arts. europefiction offers everyone involved the opportunity to be part of a holistic learning and creation process. It is intriguing to document this endeavor and to identify patterns, structures and good practices. 

What kind of Europe would you like to live in?
A peaceful Europe in which diverse ways of living and being are possible, where citizens have a say on decisions that concern them. A Europe where people take responsibility and care of their joint living spaces and spheres and constantly negotiate them while considering and interacting with the rest of the world. A Europe that values and fosters cooperations.

Which topic are you working on? Why is this an important concern to Europe?
Within europefiction I am in charge of evaluation and process documentation of the entire project with a focus on international cooperation and diversity orientation. Learning with and from each other, cooperating with one another, embracing and dealing with diversity in the most practical senses are all essential concerns to a peaceful and cooperative Europe.
