Junges Schauspielhaus
The Junges Schauspielhaus Bochum opened its new theater stage for young audiences, the “Theaterrevier”, at the beggining of the 2020/2021 season. In the Theaterrevier, which originally was an old worker wash house, there is space for creativity, empowerment and a lot of theater for young audiences. Power is to be handed over to the children and young people there. In order to achieve this, the Theaterrevier has a 15-member youth supervisory board, called Drama Control. Its members can propose themes and projects, get to know artists, give concrete instructions to the Theaterrevier team, and help elaborate the program, the artistic processes, and the theater’s communication. This project was made possible by a funding of 1.3 million euros coming from the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of the “Neue Wege” program.
