What is an Intellectual Output?
- Content = methodology, artistic production (text of a play for instance),
results of a research
- shape = pdf (handbook), video tutorial, audio files…
- > conception-creation = teacher/trainer + technician
Target groups
1. European stakeholders : facilitators, youth workers, project designers, project coordinators… Young or confirmed artists that develop projects involving their artistic skills and youth workshops. Teachers from the informal education field.
2. Youngsters that volunteer for the experiences that combine artistic expression and active citizenship.
3. NGOs involving youth groups in major citizenship-related stakes.
4. The members of the consortium and the associated partners.
Construction of the IO for Europefiction Academy project
6 IOs in 2 categories:
- IOs 1, 2 3 = Digital
- IOs 4, 5, 6 = Urban art
Construction of each IO
- 2 associated artistic structure (from the partnership): Together they create the design of the methodology for their IO
- 1 testing artistic structure (from the partnership)
- several associated structures (not necessarily from an artistic framework and not from the partnership) proposed by the partners in charge of the writing of the methodology
Content : common elements to all IO
Prepare a technical framework easy to use by participants, meaning that the facilitator has to be trained and ready to manage those tools.
Create new ice-breaking/energisers adapted to remote work.
Define “rules of the game” regarding feedback (live, written, immediate or on a board…). Participation through emojis, thumbs up, GIFs, etc.. Questions and Answers and FAQs management.
Create commitment and a sense of belonging. Escaping from ghosts participants.
Dispatch roles so the participants have specific task and missions
Content : common elements to all IO
- Establish rituals. For the opening and for the closing.
- Include casual times with quick free online games that create connections out of the main workshop.
- Define precisely the objective of each session. Allow participants to know why he/she is there, what is expected from him/her.
- Pay attention to time management and a well-framed activity.
- Vary the formats. Alternate moments online and moments for personal research and thinking, moments of group discussion and moments of physical group expression (choreography) for example.
Tasks leading to the IO production/methodology 1/2
2 structures in charge of designing the methodology, will follow an agenda made of 8 steps. 1 artist and 1 technician from the 2 organisations will be involved.
1. Debrief
the experience acquired during the lockdown in running activities with youth groups online. Identify what was lost in that process in comparison to what was new and interesting.
2. Share
this assessment with their local associated partners and get their evaluation of their own experience on the same topic. Discussion with the 3rd partner from the consortium in charge of testing the beta version of the method. Definition of the framework.
3. Shared research
on what comparable experiences have been made in 2020. Examples of best practices from EU sites like E+, Salto, Epale. Examples documented on internet.
4. Build
of a framework. Design of a beta version of the methodology.
Tasks leading to the IO production/methodology 2/2
2 structures in charge of designing the methodology, will follow an agenda made of 8 steps. 1 artist and 1 technician from the 2 organisations will be involved.
5. Presentation
of this beta version to the partner in charge of the testing. Q&A about the test protocol. Discussion on the youth EF group involved, the agenda, the roles, the implementation of this short term activity, the feedback/evaluation protocol.
6. Test
of the methodology with the youth group facilitated by the team of the third partner. Documented creation of artworks. The artworks(s)/performance(s) will be available in the final publication of the methodology as an example of what the methodology is for and how it could be used.
7. Feedback
from the youth group (group oral feedback, online individual questionnaire). Feedback from the partner’s facilitator. Meeting within the 3 partners involved to agree on the conclusions of this evaluation. Extra dialogue with the associated partners about the results so far. The partner for testing writes an evaluation report that is included as an additional chapter of the future publication.
8. Adjustments
Enrich our growing communit
on the methodology pathway by the 2 designing partners. Delivery of a final version ready to be trained during the Joint staff partners meeting. Shooting of tutorial videos describing the method for future publications. Text description of the methodology for future publication.
